ASC Foundation, in partnership with the local official from the Ministry of Forestry and Natural Resources ran a three-day training programme to educate and empower local communities from 18 villages within the catchment area of Thitimira Community Day Secondary School to be able to establish and manage a forest. The training programme was attended by a forestry committee that has been appointed by the heads of the 18 villages. The training was run over 3 days, from 12th to 14th of December 2022.
Day 1: Covered duties and responsibilities for the team and explored leadership and teamwork.
Day 2: The team was taught how to establish and managing a tree nursery.
Day 3: On the third day the team had a practical session on how to prepare the ground and to plant trees to establish a woodlot.
